Also, a class assignment. I had started this as a personal piece with no deadline, but then my class picked this piece as the piece they wanted me to complete for my final. I just fired up the mic and did it overnight while talking to my boyfriend. Worked wonders.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis seems to me it should be a mural, 30 feet or so high across the side of a building.
The sunset colors mixed with the expressions of the fishes and whales (who are fall so elegantly between 'cartoonish' and 'realistic' in their renderings) lend sort of a bittersweet tone to the piece; where are they headed? It seems like it might be a happy place for them... but maybe not for us?
The disparity in scale (either that goldfish is huge or those whales are very wee!) makes the piece surreal overall, which in no way detracts from its curious, dreamscape whimsy.
