So, I was talking to ~Caswin and he aptly reminded me of times past in my Neopets days. Well, needing to pass the time, I started out a pointless doodle of my old Aisha/cat character Merato (as seen in previous deviations like this painful relic: [link] ).
Well, I started to color in the doodle, with no intension of showing it to anyone, but somehow, I managed to figure out the coloring style that's been elluding me! I'm still trying to make my line art match the coloring better, and to find that happy medium between stylized and painterly and illustrative. Apparently in four years I can improve... damn, now I need to branch out. Why hasn't that happened yet? |
