So, I was talking to ~Caswin and he aptly reminded me of times past in my Neopets days. Well, needing to pass the time, I started out a pointless doodle of my old Aisha/cat character Merato (as seen in previous deviations like this painful relic: [link] ).
Well, I started to color in the doodle, with no intension of showing it to anyone, but somehow, I managed to figure out the coloring style that's been elluding me!
I'm still trying to make my line art match the coloring better, and to find that happy medium between stylized and painterly and illustrative.
Apparently in four years I can improve... damn, now I need to branch out. Why hasn't that happened yet?
Me too xD Funny thing was back then I thought I was TOTALLY front page material. Ah, teaches myself to be full of myself. Funny thing is that now that I've HAD the improvement, I consider myself a LOT lower on the scale of artists. *shrug* xD

And thanks I need so much more work with hands, so if they look good, I feel closer to my goal!

I was kind of the opposite , when I first came to DA, I was actually really scared that I wasn't good enough at art for my age ,x_x, but then I realised I was beating myself up too much X)
You have an interesting style going for you Well, I know that I beat myself up a lot, but I figure that since I use it to make me improve, it's not too bad xD

Oh wow, that's a BIG change from your last version. And although it's not as much of a change, I do see a lot of difference in your new coloring. I love it when my favorite artists grow even more beautiful. ^ ^

The best thing was that I wasn't even thinking of the older version when I drew this... I just wanted to draw the character.
Yeah, the coloring is the main thing... :3 I'm hoping to tie my art together better.
