I threw this together with mah boredom. anyway, it's cruddy, but gives you an idea. I'm thinking of doing a bird wing one next... or another if you want me to.
Yes... I know there are typos. xD I'm lazy, okay ;_;

This looks great, though, about the part with the "finger!elbow" comment, I understand what you're saying, but I've always had a general comparison with birds and horses to dragons, and from studying the anatomy I've always just thought of it as a bone.

-shrug- Anyway, that's just my opinion. ^^; it looks spectacular! good work.

You inconsiderate shithead.

xD I know, it's a pet peeve. I actually learned all my anatomy from studying wild birds mostly. When I was younger I devised a way to capture them, I would bring them home, and keep them for a day to draw and study, then release them the next day. Let me just say that blue jays can be rather nasty. xD a lthough quails are rather tranquil^^ I think the other breeds I caught were mostly thestrils or thrushers of whatever... I found the name once, then forgot it.

Ah, we all have 'em. ^^; Wow, how'd you pull that bird-catching off? >>; -wouldn't mind catching a sparrow or cardinal to look over-

Blue jays are the DEVIL! They peck and slash my cat, and he comes home all bloody...he's recovering from the latest at the moment...while all the blue jays noisly (they may look pretty, but have the ugliest calls) ransack my birdfeeder, because he's not there to chase them away. My poor kitty. =(

Anyways, it's a kickass tutorial...quite helpful! :D

I'd love to see a bird wing one, with emphasis on the feathers xD <3 Great job. Been a while since I've seen a good dragon wing tutorial.

What? No! We can't stop here! This is bat country!
:iconmeradragon:
that will be my main emphasis as it was the most annoying thing for me to learn and yet actually rather simple.

You know you're a good artist when you can make a how-to tutorial. Yes, it wasn't too long ago that I used fused-finger wings (check out Relaxing on the Mountain and Forest Flyer in my gallery for some examples xD), but I was just being lazy, honest! Ahem...

Again, praises to you for coming up with something like this! I'd honestly would like to see a Mera reference picture, complete with side sketches and whatnot for the fanarts. Mmm... fanarts.

Me: I really do say these thing

Yay :D I've always had a hard time with feathers, so I rarely draw them x) Maybe your tutorial will shed light on it all xD
