Artist's Comments

A gift image I made for :iconhyunthesosarian: for his birthday a month ago or so. Since he received it in the mail, I figured I could upload it now ^_^

It's his characters Haraan, and his friend who I tried to come up with an interesting design for.

Done with copics.

Everywhere? xD
I mean, the image is flat. The colors are too ... well ... flat. Everything's just flat.
:iconmeradragon:
I need to practice markers more, I agree. The colors are too similar, which is why it looks flat. I could take the bullcrap excuse out and say that it looks better in life, but you're correct that it requires more depth. It's a foray into the world of marker backgrounds. I think I need more colors.

I should probably tell you her name's Kaela. I just need to develop her more -_-

Don't try to keep thinking pessimistic thoughts. You will run out.

Avatar by =Foxchibi. She's pretty cool like that.

I can't ever remember the name's spelling, and I don't want to bullcrap it.

Haraan looks a tad nervous of their surroundings...

Since we can't call people without wings angels, we call them friends.

Now playing: Atelier Iris 1 and Magna Carta 2

Hoping to play: Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia (PS3)

I like the facial expressiveness of the two.

I think a better way of putting what ~FuckTuesdays was trying to get at is, it's flat because of contrast. Not enough difference between darks an lights, or base and highlights (but I'm pretty sure you know what contrast is and how to correct it). The artist course i took (for Army, MOS-25M) by no means makes me an expert, and i see others who go years into school for the same profession, but among the many things i came away with, Contrast (aside from attention to detail, proportions, and all that other nifty stuff) makes or breaks the image, being just mediocre to good, or great to fantastic.

Still though, your work amazes me m'lady, keep it up! ^.=.^

Thanks for the comment ^_^ Hey, you don't NEED massive art training to know how to critique, and some people who even have had it, don't know what to say.

Thanks!
