Depending on the side of the animal the feather was from, one side should be smaller. Like the right wing, when extended, the smaller part would be nearer what is facing forward... >.>;; If that made sense.

Even on feathers near the middle of the body like this one (tail feather, I presume) there is a slight difference in size on either side of the quill.

In any case, also when drawing feathered animals, not only do the wing feathers behave in this manner, all the feathers do, right down to the, well... down... no pun intended. Hope that helped!

If you want advanced critique, it looks as if Kalamu's rear is sagging on one side; her right hind leg looks a lot lower than her left from this angle, which might be the culprit in this case.

It looks as though she's going all "WAZZUP" with her tongue there :3 I like how natural you made the beak there so it seems lke part of her face instead of a glue-on attachment, and those rocks in the background look as if they had been taken from a photo or something. I'm jealous; none of my scenery has that glint of realism yet :S

Oh wow, this is so gorgeous! I really like the larger build of this creature, I dunno, that's the first thing that caught my attention. The only thing I would really be able to critique is that the lineart is maybe a little bit too thick and separates her from the background "too" much, I don't know if that's how you wanted it or not, but thats just imo...

Wow, I like the colour theme, it makes it feel very desert-esque. The background looks so realistic, it really makes you feel like you're there. I love the feet and tailfeathers, and her expression is great. Love it!
